The author interacts with the reader trying to have a connection with the people affected by snoring. The main purpose is to inform the people of the many snoring apps that keep track of your snoring and try to identify if you have apnea. Overall the devices that help you stop snoring may indeed help you but doesn't make you attractive as you wear them to sleep.

2: Refugee crisis
In the middle east there has been many problems with peoples safety. With many Syrian people seeking refuge, they cross many borders. Yet trump has his opinion on the Syrian refugees. Trump has proposed a decrease in the amount of refugees he would allow in the United States. The author has a neutral tone not siding with either either side on the debate on whether the president should allow more refugees in into the country."I am heartbroken that today President Trump is closing the door on children, mothers and fathers fleeing violence and war" (Fishel 10). The author appeals pathos by using the emotional aspect of the story.The author has a critical tone on the subject because it is an important and political issue made by the president."I’m establishing new vetting measures to keep radical Islamic terrorists out of the United States of America" and "more than 2,000 religious leaders from across the country signed a letter to President Trump in opposition to any policy change that would bar refugees based on their religion or nationality"(Fishel 12). The author keeps the stance unbiased providing information for the people to choose a side and not be swayed by the media.

3: The oscars
The Oscars is an award show that gives recognition to the best actors, directors, movies, and other categories. For some it may be a success and for others a failure. The purpose of this article was meant to inform the people who one the awards for being the best at what they do. The author had a formal direct tone only wanting to get the information across to the reader. The article was positive with no negative words or quotes. "Affleck called Denzel Washington "one of the first people who taught me how to act" (Michael Rothman). Even though some actors didn't win any award they were applauded for their performance. The author appealed to pathos based on the emotional reaction some of the actors had, some cried, while others were joyful. Even though there was a mistake with the announcing with the awards it was corrected and no one was sad or angry about it. The author appeals to ethos by citing the list of winners of the Oscar's.

4: Bradys stolen Jersey
The Patriots have won super bowl 51 and Tom Brady is the quarter back to lead them. Somehow his jersey was stolen which is valued at 500,00$. The stealing of jerseys has happen in the past affecting Tom Brady. The author speaks in a positive tone giving a vibe that everything is going to turn out well. The author has no anger towards the person who stole it so he has an unbiased stance. "Footage from Fox showed Ortega going into the locker room, allegedly reaching into Brady's bag and taking the jersey" (Michael Hayden 6). The author appeals to ethos many times throughout the the article citing evidence from the crime to past crimes.“I am happy my jerseys from SB 49 and SB 51 have been recovered" (Michael Hayden 9). The author also appeals to pathos showing the emotional side of tom Brady, he also thanks all the people that were involved in the process of retrieving the jerseys. The article was made to inform people of the news that Tom Brady's Jersey was stolen. All the arguments made are solid with everything structured in explaining the details and facts.

5: Brexit
England has now parted ways with Europe. Not knowing what will happen next many people are anxious. With many English people living in other European countries and vice versa. The authors main purpose is to inform/persuade the public of the news about England. The use of diction appears to be alert and worry some. Lena Masri the author agrees with the E.U. and says England leaving the E.U. is bad for England and may bring many economical and social changes to the country. The author appeals to logic saying that doing something wrong will bring consequences."It's going to be very difficult within the two years to actually finalize a free trade agreement" (Lena Masri). With the many changes awaiting people are beginning to change their attitude and decision about Brexit. The author is straightforward and gives all the information provided but doesn't provide the pros of England leaving the E.U. all she says is negative stuff which shows she is biased towards one side only.

6: American AIRLINES
American Air Lines is one of the biggest flight transportation corporations in the world. Yet they are famous not only for transporting people but for causing drama for people.The author is unbiased as he doesn't side with either side because he points out both sides caused the heated argument. The author appeals to ethos as he shows credit by providing evidence by showing a video of the scene and the commentary that goes along with it. "Hey bud, hey bud, you do that to me and I'll knock you flat" (Caplan 5). Another passenger also causes aggression as he defends the woman and the baby. Which appeals to logos because if you see a person hurting a baby you would defend the baby. The tone of the article was casual and informative only to provide info for the viewer. By providing evidence from both sides this lets the reader decide who they should side with and see who caused trouble in the first place.

7: Trump fires Comney
The firing of Comney was a shock to many people. Comney was fired when he went to investigate Trump for having any ties with Russia which sounds very controversial. The article was directed towards people who are against Trump. The tone was formal and hostile towards the president and appeals to ethos showing credability that he was already going to fire Comney. "He made a recommendation but regardless of recommendation, I was going to fire Comey," Trump said (Jordyn Phelps 19). Through the whole article the main point was based on how the president maid a harsh irrational decision. The author mostly talks about how the president has been planing this because of the investigation. The author also repeats many of the things Trump has done to emphasize the descision he's made
